Pushcart Prize for Non-Fiction Rankings

We would not have this rollup of information without the work and data that Clifford Garstang makes public each year.

Below is a five-year view of Garstang’s ranking system in line with the journal’s average over that five years. Just a simple view to see if a journal is trending up/down over the last five years and if the last year or so has been better or worse than their rolling average.

We used the average Puschcart Non-Fiction rankings on the far right and included that number on the journal’s page. When you click into a specific journal, that number comes with it. It’s an imperfect system but a way to keep scores in front of you wherever you roam across the site. Like golf, smaller numbers are better.

The journals linked from this grid are currently open, accept simultaneous  as well as digital submissions, and respond with rejections. If you find a journal that is closed, please let us know and we will unlink it. It is our aim to make this site a transactional tool for streamlining submissions. We don’t want to slow anyone down.
